  • Helen Di Tomaso

    PRINCIPAL TEACHER. LAMDA EXAMINER

    B.A. (Hons) LSDE (LAMDA) MSTSD

    Helen trained at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art from where she was awarded the Teaching Diploma in Speech and Drama Education. Helen continued her training at The Guildford School of Acting, graduating with an Honours Degree in Theatre.

    In 2022, Helen was invited to join the board of LAMDA examiners, leading to Helen examining for LAMDA all over the UK.

    Helen teaches the LAMDA syllabi at Denmark Road High School, The King’s School, Gloucester, The Cheltenham Ladies’ College and to many after-school pupils.

  • Liane Hadley

    TEACHER. THEATRE COMPANY FOUNDER

    M.A. PGCE PHD STUDENT.

    Liane has a wealth of experience in the performing arts, delivering drama workshops for two decades, working with students of all ages from primary school children to university students including youth groups.

    Liane is currently undertaking a part-time PhD research program in Community Theatre.

    Liane is the founder of Blue Frog, a community theatre company that has been in existence for over 15 years, specialising in creating community arts projects that showcase the community through performance.

  • Tom Newton

    B.A. (Hons)

    Tom joins us with ten years experience of teaching LAMDA working predominantly with people aged from 7-21 years. For nearly a decade he has worked at The University of Gloucestershire, teaching on all Drama and Performance courses.

    Tom has worked in the industry since he was sixteen and he is excited to start this new opportunity.

    Tom is looking forward to using his teaching and industry experience acquired over the years to inspire even more students and help them to explore what studying LAMDA can do for them.

  • Dee Thompson

    B.A . (Hons) M.A. (Hons)

    Dee trained at GSA.  She has had over 20 years acting experience in stage and screen.

    She is also a writer and her play 'The Mind of a Narcissist' sold out at the Edinburgh Festival in 2023, since then it has become an Amazon best seller and been performed in London. 

    Dee teaches LAMDA to many local young people in Gloucestershire, alongside running her own performing arts school, Thomford Academy. 

  • Cheryl Stapleton BA (Hons), QTS, STSD

    Cheryl Stapleton BA (Hons), QTS, STSD

    LAMDA Teacher | Theatre Educator | Speech & Confidence Coach

    Cheryl is a passionate performer with over 30 years’ experience as an actor and teacher. She trained at Brunel University and École Philippe Gaulier, specialising in mime, mask and commedia dell’arte.

    She has performed internationally, worked as an on-screen TV presenter, and produced and directed in both theatre and television. A trained ballet dancer and mask practitioner, she also brings expertise in movement direction and physical expressivity. 

    As a qualified secondary teacher, Cheryl taught Drama and Theatre Studies in state schools and sixth form colleges for ten years, and frequently lectured at degree level. She is now a Specialist Artist with ISTA Global and frequently delivers workshops at their international school conventions and festivals. She teaches children and adults worldwide using theatre techniques to build confidence, communication and presentation skills, with proven success supporting those with speech difficulties. 

    Through Learning Through Theatre, the company she founded in 2013, Cheryl creates original commedia dell’arte productions and delivers creative workshops, masterclasses and personal coaching. She helps performers of all ages to build confidence and versatility, guiding them to master voice, text, movement, gesture and emotion, while nurturing a love of storytelling.
